You all know how God works. He works in "mysterious ways, His wonders to perform". Not too long ago I, before I sold the Waffle Lady Restaurant to Bad to the Bone-BBQ I was in the Restaurant on a sunday morning when the most wonderful man from Uganda, Africa was introduced to me by a regular customer & his son.

We all started talking about an orphanage in Uganda where the children & staff plant, grow & eat organic foods. I was fascinated by this & suggested he take some Waffle & Pancake Mix, as well as some Jumbleberry & Coconut~Vanilla Bean Syrup back to his country.

I really thought he might have some trouble getting my products into another country, but to my amazement I received the following e-mail & the most wonderful pictures from the children. When I read the e-mail I started crying, called Brent & said I had something wonderful to share with him. I drove to meet him for breakfast and he cried too. He said, "Well, Jeanne, it doesn't get better than this!

I am attaching this e-mail to share with all of you.

Dear "waffle Lady"/Jeanne,

Greeting from this side of the world!!!

I hope you still remember me? I am sorry that it took me all this long to get back to you.

I am James Mutaka Kroll from Uganda. On 9th March 2008, a friend of mine called Steven Earnshaw brought me into your restaurant for breakfast and I happened to meet you. I had a wonderful taste of Waffles that day.

Furthermore, you donated to us/me the waffle mix. I waited for most of our kids to be back from school. This week as we ended the school break in style, by having waffle for breakfast. It was so amazing and the memory came back to me. I remember how warmly and loving you were. Thanks for your hospitality and genuine heart. I told the project children how we met, read your story them and they were touched amidst increasing food prices.

One of the kid jokingly said that we now taste "Mzungu" (white people) food from all the way from "California". Another one said I will tell my family and friends how the food tastes.

Anyhow, simple sacrifice and sharing heart can mean a lot. As I was eating the Pan cake by Sarah, then I thought about Jesus Fedding the 5,000. The little we give touches many souls and makes us appreciate life.

Hi Everyone,

For my first official Blog I thought I would tell y'all about the exciting changes at The Waffle Lady in San Clemente. I was just minding my business one afternoon when my neighbor, Marty Wells (a real live Oklahoma Pitt Master) came in for a chat and a cup of Kona Red Coffee.

Marty wanted to know if I wanted to sell my Little Red Smokehouse which was not being used too much. I looked at the Smoker and then looked at Marty and asked why he wanted it. It seems that he is bursting at the seams at Bad to the Bone Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano.

I thought about it for a minute & got an idea that I presented to Marty. I said, Marty why don't you bring Bad to the Bone (which has about the best BBQ in all of South Orange County) to the Waffle Lady and why don't we take the Waffle Lady to San Juan Capistrano?

Ten days later we struck a great deal with Al Meyling the Owner of Bad to the Bone and I licensed back my Waffle Lady Menu, Logo, and all of our tastiest recipe's.

Next I called my family and invited them to take a much needed vacation to Maui for our 2008 Golden Egg Hunt (all 17 of them). I told them that they had to thank the Waffles for our magnificient trip. My life might never be the same again!

You all just might want to come by the newly remodeled Restaurant and see how amazing the transformation of the Waffle Lady into Bad to the Bone Restaurant featuring The Waffle Lady Breakfast has become. It is FABULOUS!!

I now have my Pancake & Waffle Mixes in over 55 stores and three Restaurants. My products are Organic & packed in a Kosher facility~I am very proud of my Mixes and now I am developing the Jumbleberry Topping & the Sunflower~Almond Granola . . .just a few of the items in our 2008 product line that is evolving from The Waffle Lady Restaurant.

Yes, I will still be at the Restaurants all the time. I am there more now than before I sold. It is a bold new direction and an exciting one.

Thanks for all of your support over the years . . .I appreciate & love y'all.

Warmly,

Jeanne
